Not a morgan stanleyer any more

I have received some emails asking about IT division of Morgan Stanley Shanghai. First of all, I would like to clarify that I am not Morgan Stanley employee any more and I can't disclose any confidential information that I am not supposed to tell someone else.

Morgan Stanley is the best company that I have ever known of until now. B People are genius and friendly there and definitely it's a good company to work for but I would like to say it is not suitable for everybody.

Where am I now and where am I gonna go

Having been in Shanghai about 2 months now, many things happened during this return period to Shanghai… (Omit thousands of words here) And I also find out myself has changed a lot, which I began to thinking whether Shanghai is the city right for me. Shanghai is definitely very different from Tokyo. When referring the feeling of home, Shanghai is also like a stranger as Tokyo. The obvious difference between the two cities is that one speaks Japanese and the other speaks Chinese. Besides, the more important point I think is that most of stuffs in Shanghai that can rarely found in other cities in China is only for the rich people or foreigners here. Like many shopping malls, bars and apartments whose price is far from the average of income of Shanghai residence.

Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum

Yesterday, I took Jessica to the new opened Shanghai Madame Tussaud's. Madame Tussaud's famous waxworks exhibition was originally established in Paris in 1770 and moved to London in 1802. The Shanghai branch is located on the 10th floor of the New World Department Store on Nanjing Road. It is not a surprise that the place we visited yesterday is very crowded. After waiting in a line for a ticket for about half an hour, finally we got into this legendary wax museum.

Wandering Again with My Friends

Due to the long distance between Gongqing Forest Park and the place where I live, the original barbecue plan in this weekend was canceled. But I am feeling a little regretted now about the decision I have made. Fortunately, Yixuan didn’t change his mind and came to shanghai again. He brought us a heavy downpour and took a QUANJUDE roast duck back to Hangzhou.

Miscellanea of The Weekend

It's a wonderful weekend. I just arranged with Hurrican and his gf to play badminton together at first. I got up very late (sometimes I am very lazy especially at weekend) and when I got Xujiahui, it was almost 11:00 am. The first thing I should do is to buy a badminton racket. But After searching for a cheap rackets around Xujiahui together with my brother, I can't find a little cheap one. Most of the badminton rackets in Xujiahui is above 300rmb and some up to 1000rmb. Finally, I had to give up and said goodbye to Hurrican.

Maglev between Shanghai and Hangzhou

I have been heard that a maglev train line between Shanghai and Hangzhou is planned for a long time. However, with the high investment costs, the project remained controversial. So at that time I just treated it as a rumor and have a strong suspicion on it. Today the good news comes, that is, this plan has been approved by the Beijing government.

First home in Shanghai

I am living in a rented house at Shenbei Road in Minhang District. It is a small road which locates in the south part of Shanghai and the house is very far away from the centre of the city. It takes about 45 minutes for me to get to the People Square by subway. Fortunately, the Line 5 subway is not far away from my house. So why did I rent such a remote house? Obviously, It is pretty far away from People Square but very close to my company. I just go to my office on foot everyday. I believe it is a good daily exercise for me.

Why So Many People come to Shanghai

I left my office with one of my colleagues very late yesterday. It was valentine's day, of course, we talked about the feast day at first. Then, our topic changed to his high school life. He is from Shandong Province where high school students' Gaokao(National College Entrance Examinations) mark is very high and now he have graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He said he was No.1 when he was high school student, but when he came to the university, he found that so many talent students in the university.
